2011 Fairfax/Fletcher Merger Study

In January 2011, the Fairfax/Fletcher Regional Education District (FFRED) Committee met and began to study the idea of merging Fairfax and Fletcher schools into a single school district. Community members were encouraged to attend and participate in the lengthy process. Ultimately, the voters considered the study proposal and defeated a merger in a townwide November 2011 vote. In Fletcher, 131 voted against the merger and 68 supported it; in Fairfax, 220 voters opposed the merger with 136 voting in support. Information on this page documents the work of the study committee.
